Audience: Highly educated professionals in their field who are leading research labs, but need to learn or be reminded of the process to properly disclose intellectual property to the company. When asked why they haven't disclosed inventive ideas, the researchers often stated they felt like their ideas were obvious or unimportant, so while they are documenting their research, they didn't feel it was worth disclosing.
Problem: Researchers are not currently disclosing all inventions. Intellectual property is a business advantage when it provides a solution that the competition lacks knowledge or rights to use. It needs to be managed as an asset to the business. Disclosure documentation can allow us to secure legal protection for Bio-Care intellectual property.
Solution: This e-Learning will help researchers know what should be disclosed and the process for disclosure of inventive ideas.
Process: Utilized ADDIE to develop design document and storyboard. Gathered feedback from SMEs and stakeholders to improve each iteration. Planned for Kirkpatrick Level 2 and Level 3 evaluations to determine effectiveness.
Tools Used: Articulate Storyline 360, Canva
Highlights: This is a scenario-based training which features customized knowledge checks to help with understanding and retention.
